Capabilities

Engineered for Industrial Reliability

Every component of the xDIO-8 is designed for continuous operation in building automation, lighting control and industrial load management environments.

8-Channel Impulse Relay

8 relay outputs with AgSnO2 contacts rated at 250V 10A. Each relay toggles its state when the corresponding input is activated — enabling push-button switching logic.

Galvanic Isolation & Port Protection

RS-485 port with galvanic isolation, static voltage protection up to 2.5 kV, power protection up to 300W, and self-restoring fuses. Optocoupled inputs with 5V pull-up.

DIN-Rail Modular Design

Compact 107×91×58mm enclosure with standard DIN-rail mounting. Designed for rapid cabinet installation alongside circuit breakers and power distribution equipment.

Modbus RTU over RS-485

Industrial RS-485 communication with Modbus RTU protocol. Configurable baud rates from 4800 to 256000 bps. Maximum bus distance of 1200 meters.

LED Status Indication

Comprehensive visual diagnostics: STE, TXD, RXD indicators plus individual LEDs for each of the 8 discrete outputs and 8 discrete inputs.

Pulse Counting & Metering

Digital inputs support pulse counting mode for connecting energy meters, water meters and gas meters with pulse output. Track consumption directly at the controller.

Process

How the xDIO-8 Works

From button press to load control — every step executes locally with deterministic timing. No cloud, no latency, no single point of failure.

01 — Impulse Capture

A momentary button press is captured by one of 8 optocoupled digital inputs (DI1–DI8). The input supports both dry and wet contact types with 5V pull-up.

02 — Firmware Logic Execution

The controller evaluates the impulse against the configured switching logic — toggle mode, interlock, or pulse counting for metering applications.

03 — Relay State Transition

The corresponding relay output (DO1–DO8) changes state. Each relay features AgSnO2 contacts rated at 250V 10A. Status LEDs provide real-time visual feedback.

04 — Bus Communication

The new relay state is reported over the RS-485 Modbus RTU bus at speeds up to 256000 bps across distances up to 1200 meters.
